Tackle Uganda
Tackle is a sports-for-development NGO using football to deliver sexual and reproductive health education, HIV prevention, and youth-friendly services across sub-Saharan Africa. By combining SRHR education with access to healthcare and mentorship, Tackle empowers girls and young women to make informed choices and thrive.

Tackle (formerly TackleAfrica) is an international NGO founded in 2002 that uses football as a platform to deliver Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education and services to young people across sub-Saharan Africa.
By integrating structured health messaging into sports sessions, Tackle trains local coaches, teachers, and community leaders to create safe spaces where girls and young women gain accurate information on HIV prevention, contraception, menstrual health, and youth-friendly services.
Through pitch-side clinics, tournaments, and referral networks, participants access HIV testing and counselling, reproductive healthcare, and essential support services.
Tackle’s evidence-based sports-for-development model builds self-confidence, life skills, and resilience while challenging stigma and gender inequality, empowering young women to make informed decisions about their health, education, and future opportunities.
