Thyroid Disease Awareness Kenya Foundation (TDAK)
Thyroid disease affects up to 8 times more women than men, yet remains widely undiagnosed. TDAK is Kenya's patient-led voice for thyroid health, with a special focus on women and girls across every life stage.

The Thyroid Disease Awareness Kenya Foundation (TDAK) is Kenya's leading patient-led organization dedicated to closing the awareness, diagnosis, and treatment gaps surrounding thyroid disease. Founded from lived experience, TDAK ensures that no one in Kenya faces a thyroid condition alone, without information, support, or access to care.
TDAK works at the intersection of patient empowerment and public health, simplifying complex medical information, championing early detection, and building pathways to quality care for underserved communities across Kenya.
A Special Focus on Women and Girls
Thyroid disease disproportionately affects women, occurring up to 8 times more frequently than in men, with approximately 80% of cases in women. TDAK centres women's thyroid health across every life stage — from adolescence through pregnancy, fertility, and menopause — offering education, early screening programs, peer support, and safe spaces for connection and healing.

TDAK Membership: Real Benefits, Affordable Access
Since 2022, TDAK has operated a membership program that gives patients more than community, it gives them tangible financial relief. For an annual fee of KShs 1,000, members receive an official TDAK Membership Card, which unlocks exclusive discounts negotiated directly with TDAK's network of partner hospitals, doctors, pharmacies, and laboratories.
These discounts — on consultations, lab tests, and medications — are available only to paid TDAK members. For patients managing a chronic condition like thyroid disease, where ongoing medical care is a long-term reality, this membership offers meaningful savings and sustained access to quality healthcare providers.
Where TDAK Works
Based in Nairobi, TDAK has a growing national presence across Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Meru, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, the Western region, and the North Rift, reaching underserved communities nationwide through digital platforms and targeted outreach.
Partnership Opportunities
TDAK welcomes collaboration with healthcare providers, NGOs, public health agencies, women's health organizations, pharmaceutical partners, and corporate entities committed to improving health outcomes for Kenyans. TDAK brings patient insight, community trust, and on-the-ground reach to every partnership.
