UNCIDA is a child rights and gender equality organization in Western Uganda working to protect children, prevent gender-based violence, and strengthen community resilience through education, health, WASH, and climate action programs. The organization advocates for girls’ rights, child protection, and inclusive community development while responding to emergencies and humanitarian crises.
United for Children’s Inter Development Action Uganda (UNCIDA) is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization founded in 2008 and dedicated to advancing child rights, gender equality, and community development in Western Uganda. UNCIDA works to strengthen protective environments for children, youth, and families through high-impact programs in child protection, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, education, health and nutrition, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and peacebuilding. The organization responds to humanitarian emergencies in coordination with civil society partners to safeguard vulnerable children and marginalized communities. Through advocacy, policy engagement, and community capacity-building, UNCIDA amplifies the voices of children, girls, young women, minorities, and children with disabilities, ensuring their participation in decision-making processes. A member of Girls Not Brides Uganda, UNCIDA campaigns against child marriage and violence against children while promoting equal rights, social inclusion, and sustainable development.
